What is GirlsInTech Nigeria?

Girls in Tech Nigeria is a non-profit organization that aims to support and empower women and girls in the tech industry. The organization provides capacity building and skills development programs, mentorship and networking opportunities, and community building activities for women and girls in Nigeria who are interested in pursuing careers in technology. Girls in Tech Nigeria advocates for gender equality and inclusion in the tech industry, and is committed to building a more diverse and inclusive tech community in Nigeria. The organization also partners with other organizations and stakeholders in the tech industry to create more opportunities for women and girls in tech, and to promote the importance of diversity and inclusion in the industry.

Why is our work so important?

Our work here at Girls in Tech helps young girls build skills and experience that will last throughout their life time. It opens them up to opportunities, create platforms and prepares the mindset of young girls while creating awareness of what the tech world has to offer thereby bridging the gender gap present in the tech space. We also believe in creating a supportive and inclusive community that fosters sisterhood, mentorship, and career growth. One of our primary goals is to provide a strong network and community for women in tech at any level of their career journey.

Our Mission

Capacity building and skills development

GirlsInTech Nigeria provides capacity building and skills development programs to help women acquire the skills they need to succeed in the tech industry. These programs include training in coding, entrepreneurship, leadership, and other technical and soft skills.

Mentorship and networking

GirlsInTech Nigeria provides mentorship and networking opportunities for women in the tech industry. This helps women connect with mentors and other women in the industry, learn about job opportunities, and get the support they need to succeed.

Community building:

GirlsInTech Nigeria provides a community for women in the tech industry to connect with one another, share experiences, and support each other. This helps women feel more confident and supported as they navigate their careers in tech.

Advocacy

GirlsInTech Nigeria advocates for gender equality and inclusion in the tech industry. The organization works to create a more equitable and supportive environment for women in tech, and to promote the importance of diversity and inclusion in the industry
